To celebrate Tom Racobaldo’s upcoming retirement, Compass One Healthcare leaders who have worked closely with Tom over the years were asked to describe his impact on operations, culture and their lives. Their responses show the gratitude, respect and admiration everyone has for Tom:Â
Bobby Côté, CEO of Compass One Healthcare Â
Tom has been the complete leader of our organization. His ability, consistency and personality are unparalleled. He is a great business leader who has always achieved outstanding results, but he has done so by never sacrificing his personal values. He treats everyone with kindness and respect, and his family always comes first.Â
Another key to Tom’s success is his ability to bring people together. One of my best memories is what he did to win the Ascension business. That was several years ago when Crothall and Morrison were separate companies. We had never worked together, but Tom helped bring the two businesses together in a collaborative spirit to include food services and housekeeping. He never doubted our ability to do it. He kept us all focused on the prize. There were other accounts where he did the same thing, but this is the one I always remember because Tom was at his best – determined for us to succeed.Â

Mike Villani, CEO, Crothall HealthcareÂ
Tom will be remembered as the person who built this company from the ground up. He has been an integral part of every aspect of our growth, and Crothall would not be the company we know today without Tom. I learned a lot from the way he approaches work. It’s so quiet and wonderful. No matter what happens, it never goes up, and it never goes down. I hope I can emulate this approach.Â

Bruce E. Bachwiner, Head of Facilities Management DivisionÂ
Tom has been my only mentor for over 30 years. He embraced the opportunity and promoted me to Regional Director of Operations in 1997. In my first role as Vice President, Tom convinced me to move my family to Miami in 2000. He then brought us back to Pennsylvania and supported me in developing my career at Crothall/Compass until 2003.Â
After Crothall left in 2003, Tom and I stayed in touch until I returned after a 16-year absence. When he called to see if I would come back, the decision was simple. Very few people in anyone’s career take the time to make a real difference in the lives of those in charge of them. This is the only way Tom knows how to do it.Â

Greg Osanjanian, Head of Patient Transport Â
I am extremely grateful and appreciative that Tom took the opportunity seven years ago to lead the Patient Transport Department. Under Tom’s leadership, I have learned the power of being patient and consistent for our teams; To be humble and honest in everything you do; To invest in your employees, take care of them, and the importance of family Â
I can’t thank him enough for the impact he had on me and I will work to pass it on to future company leaders Â
Tom leads with kindness and integrity. He was always there to provide all of us with an “inside check” to do the right thing, whether it was for the client or our employees. Â
Moreover, we always felt his confidence. It allowed us space to manage and support us but there was also responsibility. I always felt like he listened to us and supported us.Â

Larry Stebelski, Department HeadÂ
Tom is a once in a lifetime exceptional leader. I personally endeavored to never disappoint Tom. Few people in the industry possess the rare combination of strong leadership and genuine care for each individual, which is an important reason for a company’s success.Â
His unique talent is to guide others through thoughtful advice and real-life examples. As a 30-year veteran of our company, I can confidently say that I have never heard a negative word about Tom and his leadership – ever. Â

Kevin Yun, Department Head Â
There are many things that stood out to me about working with Tom and his impact on the organization. If there is one trait people will remember, it is his incredible integrity and commitment to always doing the right thing.Â
In today’s challenging business environment, I cannot begin to tell you how much we all appreciate his leadership and absolute confidence that, as a company, we will always do what is right. The “right thing” is not always the easiest or most cost-effective thing, but Tom has consistently shown us that it is always the right thing. We are all grateful for the values and leadership approach he instilled in all of us.Â
