Back in 2019, I wrote up a list of my favorite plus size and size inclusive brands to shop. Six years later, I’m sorry to say, many of these companies have either closed or cut back on their plus-size options. The world of fashion (well, world) has weathered a lot of change since then, including a general cooling of concepts like body positivity and size inclusion. But some brands have been successful at it, and I have to say they’ve broken even better In recent years. Inclusive fashion is still a small world, but it is thriving. Here are 10 of my favorite brands that are working on tanning it right now…

Global standard
US size 00-40
I’ve always admired Universal Standard, a brand that sets the standard for inclusivity and quality. But in its early days, the sets were a bit simple for my personal taste. However, in the years that followed, WOW flourished. Universal Standard now produces a wider range of styles (in amazing colours), while maintaining their excellent quality. It’s grown-up but not heavy, which, as any plus-size shopper knows, is hard to get if you’re anywhere above a size 14. I’m totally obsessed with this Mustard coatAnd I love the bell sleeve/boat neck combo This is the striped top.

Thigh Association
US size 2-34
I had no idea how comfortable I could feel in a dress until I got my first pair Thigh society shorts To wear underneath. They look like they’re out of place, but don’t be fooled – these chafing-resistant shorts are all comfy and don’t cause any pressure. They’re durable and shockingly breathable, and I actually forgot I was wearing them. I wore it on my wedding day and danced for six hours in complete comfort under 10 layers of tulle.

End of the Earth
US size 00-26
Yes, that’s right, Land’s End – remember that catalog that was always on the mail table while you were growing up? I had kind of forgotten that Land’s End existed sometime around 1998, but when I rediscovered it a few years ago — while desperately searching for a winter jacket in my size — I was shocked to discover that Land’s End had gotten this good. It is one of the few brands that makes products that are tough and weather-resistant Outerwear Plus sizes, but don’t ignore their underwear. these Wide leg shorts? this Green sweater t-shirt? Well, the end of the earth! I will be back on the mailing list!

Ace and dance
Size XXS-4X
When I see someone wearing a cool print and ask them where it comes from, the answer is always Ace & Jig. No one prints like these – cheerful, artistic, elegant, and made from certified fair trade fabrics. Just look at This dress Makes me want to dance at a backyard party. I hesitated and hesitated for months about purchasing a suit — should I really spend $240 on work clothes? – And I eventually went to him during the sale. That was three years ago, and it remains one of the most worn and most treasured items in my wardrobe. The price point is not low, but I find the cost-per-wear value to be excellent.

opinion
XXS-6XL
Wray is another great brand that dispels the myth that plus size clothing has to be either cute and boxy or asymmetrical and covered with bows on the back (why always on the back??). Their collections are full of gorgeous pieces with a vintage flair – fun, but not flashy, if you know what I mean. I like this Deep berry dressand this Checked pants It turned my lifelong aversion to checks upside down. Another thing I appreciate about Wray is that they resell their used items, and allow shoppers to list their previous purchases. I’ve never resold on their site, but I always keep an eye out for retired designs that I didn’t have a chance to get the first time around.

Press large bud
Size XP-7XL
Big Bud Press is known for its products JumpsuitsAnd for good reason. They are true timeless pieces as the styles are classic and the materials are very durable. But can we talk about the rest of their products? the Work jackets! the Carpenter’s overalls and Tees In every color of the rainbow!

Old Navy
Perhaps an obvious choice, but credit where credit is due. Old Navy checks boxes that almost no other brand does: It produces all of the women’s clothing in the company’s full size range, and photographs the pieces on a variety of models, allowing shoppers to choose a model’s size when browsing online. I find this particular feature so useful that it’s one of the reasons I always go back to Old Navy (hint, hint, other brands!). It’s also amazing to be able to click a button and suddenly see a page full of bodies that look like mine. I’m completely loyal to Old Navy Down button and High-waist flared jeans. I spent all summer there This swim romperwhich was so cute that I’m going to buy another next year now.

Aquamarine robes
Size 14-40
Do you know how difficult it is to find a draw? slight Plus size robe? I feel weirdly embarrassed about this. It is true that a robe is not as important as, say, underwear or a winter jacket. But a nice, comfortable robe is the kind of luxury you take for granted until you look around and realize it’s completely unavailable to you. I was thrilled to discover Peridot Robes, a company dedicated to filling this gap (and making more). Nice comfortable clothes To boot!). How adorable she is Fabrics?! I’m currently fantasizing about touring this No. Juicy tie dye.

Rachel Antonoff
Size 0-26
Rachel Antonoff’s pieces are the best, but they’re never so cute that I feel childish when I wear them. (This rainbow sweater is at the top of my Christmas wish list, in case anyone is interested!) I also enjoy the brand Lookbooks are cool, playfulAnd the fact that they usually feature a variety of ages and genders as they design clothes. I wish they would incorporate more positive role models – especially those on the larger end of the spectrum. But I hope a brand that’s willing to flout industry norms in other ways can push it in the right direction. So, let’s pay.

Collective friendly
XXS-6XL
Girlfriend Collective will always have a special place in my heart for being one of the only activewear companies to stock plus sizes from the beginning. I give them huge credit for alerting other brands to the fact that many plus-size people actually enjoy working out and like to do it in something other than giant t-shirts. I had never had an actual workout set until Girlfriend came along, let alone a variety of cuts and colors to choose from. I especially like theirs Cropped workout brasAnd I’ve been looking forward to this Long sleeve ballet suit For several months.
So who else is doing it right these days? Are there any more comprehensive (or plus!) brands I should check out?
