Days of our lives Dr. Mark Green (Jonah Robinson) returns to Salem after a stint in Statesville Penitentiary. He has just applied for a job with EJ DiMera (Dan Feurigil), who is also the boss of his sister Kat Green (AnnaLynne McCord). Will Mark get a job at the hospital if Kat can convince him to spy for her?
We know she and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) are eager to dig up the dirt that Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) and the ISA want, but so far they haven’t really struck gold.
So, fresh out of prison for conspiring to murder Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Mark is desperate for a job. He went to the brother of the man who tried to kill him. He asked EJ for a job doing research or working in a lab because Mark lost his medical license. It looks like EJ is actually going to give Mark a job in his secret lab hidden behind Dr. Tom Horton’s (Zack Chase) soon-to-open free clinic in University Hospital.

But what Mark doesn’t know is that his sister Kat has been working for the ISA and that they are specifically targeting EJ. If you’ve been following the episodes, you know that Cat and Rafe investigate EJ on Shane’s orders to find out who helped him finance the purchase of the financially unstable medical facility and why EJ wanted to buy the hospital.
I’m sure Kat will be happy that Mark has a job at all. But finding out he’ll be working in the unfinished clinic, well, that could be great for Kat. We know it, Rafe. And Shane is all speculating that EJ is up to no good and that this clinic is the heart of the matter. But they don’t have any proof. But Mark, Kat’s brother, could be their inside man. He can give them the inside scoop on EJ’s secret scientific scheme, who’s providing the money, and what’s going on.
From prison to pawns: Mark Green’s desperate bid for redemption on DOOL
Although Jennifer Horton (Cady MacLaine) and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) write the parole board and try to prevent Mark’s release, it doesn’t work. Now, former Doctor Mark is on the loose and back in Salem. He’s reunited with his sisters Kat and Felicity Green (Kennedy Garcia) and his brother Aaron Green (Luis Tomeo), who may now be a father.
Mark insisted that he would not have gone through with killing Chad. He is very remorseful that he and Kat fell into Clyde Weston’s (James Reed) evil plans. The thing is, Mark really felt like he had no other choice. But to follow through with the plan, otherwise Clyde would have killed his mother, Katarina Melonis (Eli Patricius).
So, even though Mark was released on parole and gained his freedom, he cannot practice medicine unless he gets his license back. However, Kat encouraged Mark to go ahead and submit his resume and talk to EJ about some type of job at the hospital. But I don’t think Kat was expecting this particular job.
A deal with the devil? EJ DiMera’s secret lab is hiring a new recruit on Days of Our Lives
Mark came to talk to him and at first EJ resisted. Why would he hire Mark, the guy who was going after Chad on Clyde’s orders, especially since EJ hates Clyde and loves his brother Chad? However, once EJ heard that Mark loved working in the lab and doing research, he was all ears. It was all about his agenda. EJ told Mark that he could get the job if he could follow directions without asking questions and if Mark would sign an NDA.
Of course, Mark was a bit hesitant but then EJ reassured him that it was privately funded research. So the released doctor took the job. Now, I can’t wait to see Kat’s reaction when her brother Mark tells her he’s got a job at the new lab. Cat knows the safe room with the fancy keypad lock isn’t just a medicine cabinet like EJ claims because Cat fell and was taking pictures Days of our lives.
Leo Stark’s shocking discovery: another threat to EJ’s secret plans
This new secret space in the hospital has piqued the interest of Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart). Also, if you remember, he recently saved his former best friend, Gwen Rieszczyk (Emily O’Brien), when she got trapped there during a power outage. Leo was investigating a tip about a power outage and its source. That’s when he found Gwen terrified because she was locked in the room with the power out. The electronic lock will not work.
So Leo cuts the drywall and manages to save Gwennie. Now, of course, Leo is curious to know what’s going on there too. Unfortunately, Rita, the henchman who is EJ’s right-hand woman, just caught Leo snooping there. EJ tells Rita that they need to deal with Leo as quickly as possible. This could mean a lot of different things to EJ. We may see Leo kidnapped and used as a guinea pig in one of EJ’s new secret experiments in his new secret lab.
The potential return of Dr. Rolf and a twisty new romance in Salem on Days of Our Lives
I hope Mark will work directly with Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) in this new, unfinished laboratory. I hope he comes back. The guy is great and it’s always fun to see Rolf in scenes. I know fans would love to see DiMera’s crazy world. Speaking of Rolf, I think it would be ironic if he and Rita started making out. They are both loyal to EJ and DiMeras. They are both very evil. They seem to have no conscience and can see many things eye to eye.
I think they could have a terrible little relationship that could be a fun little side plot. So, if we see Mark working with Rolf, I’m totally here for it. I almost forgot that we still need to know what’s going on with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and this new prospect Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) and whether this plays into anything EJ is planning to do in this lab. Is he doing something with his dear old father’s mind or consciousness or something strange like what Rolf did before?
The final gamble on DOOL: Will Mark spy on EJ to win his freedom?
The Horton Free Clinic opens its doors in November to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Days of Our Lives with plenty of guest stars in attendance. This is just around the corner. Meanwhile, Kat and Ravi are still trying to figure out what EJ has up his sleeve. They now know that Gwen was down there checking the construction zone. So Kat and Ravi keep an eye on Gwen, but they can’t get too close.
But Mark is another matter because he just got a job at the new lab. We’ll see if EJ has hired Mark on a trial basis and that he won’t get involved in the more nefarious matters until EJ He knows he can trust himOr maybe he’ll hit the ground running as part of the nefarious plot. I think if Kat talks Shane into offering Mark a sweetheart deal, he’ll risk spying and they might be able to expose EJ and pin him.
