So who is Liam Sellin? Hank Northrup’s character first appears in scenes with Abby Carver (James Reynolds), who has recently joined a literacy program run by Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Abby’s first assignment is to mentor young Liam, who has recently been arrested for carjacking.
As part of his rehabilitation, Liam must attend tutoring sessions – and this is where their connection begins. To add another twist, Abe soon realizes that his student was once a high school bully of his son Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson). This revelation alone promises a lot of conflict between father and son in the coming episodes.
Days of Our Lives: Abby and Theo struggle over Liam’s redemption
Theo is less than thrilled to learn that his father is helping the same man who tortured him when he was a teenager. But Abe, the man of second chances, believes Liam deserves grace after growing up with his parents in prison. Theo suspects that Liam has changed, creating a tense dynamic between the Carvers as Abi insists on mentoring the young man despite his son’s objections.
Hank Northrup described Liam’s journey as “transformational”, saying that his character will develop and have “a little bit of fun” along the way – although Theo may not appreciate the kind of fun Liam brings to Salem.

Liam’s last name – Celine – rings a bell for longtime fans. In the 1980s, Salem had siblings Ivy and Speed Celine. Spade led a street gang called the Vipers, best known for kidnapping Bo Brady (Peter Rickell) and Hope Brady (Christian Alfonso). Ivy dated Mike Horton (Wesley Orr) before leaving town. If Liam turns out to be connected to them, it could link him directly to Horton’s legacy.
And perhaps makes him a surprising member of the family tree. There is speculation that Speed could be Liam’s father, but a shock development could reveal Ivy is his mother or even link him to Mike Horton himself. This means that Liam has a half-brother, Jeremy Horton (Trevor Donovan), who recently returned to Salem.
