“Jersey Shore” fans fell in love with her Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino And his rock-solid body during the early seasons of the MTV show. However, after life got in the way, the reality star admitted he got off track with his fitness routine, which resulted in him gaining a few pounds and losing his signature abs. Things look different for Mike Sorrentino now, as the veteran reality star has begun flaunting his new body – the result of hours in the gym and a strict diet.

During an interview with New York PostSorrentino, 43, revealed that he did his best to get his body to where he wanted it to be, including saying goodbye to his favorite dishes, such as chicken cutlets and pasta. The reality star also spent nearly two hours in the gym five days a week, resulting in a 30-pound weight loss.
“I probably haven’t gained this weight since I was 19 or 20. And I also realize that there’s probably a lot of genetics that has to do with it because once I lost the weight, my abs are there,” he said. “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, God decided to give me my abs back.'”

In addition to his strenuous fitness routine, the father-of-three ate only clean foods, including a pile of scrambled eggs and oatmeal for breakfast, followed by grilled chicken and rice for lunch, and steak or fish with sweet potatoes for dinner. Sorrentino had to make these sacrifices so he could get his body back to where he wanted it.
“Abs are made in the kitchen. I’ve never cheated on my diet, but I’m going to start doing this cheat day because I’m 180 now,” he said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Sorrentio recalled a conversation he had with the producers of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” who expressed doubts about his ability to bounce back. “Because I’m not a spring chicken. I’m not in my 20s anymore…but as the weeks went by, I started to see the weight come off,” he said.
“I started telling production at MTV, ‘I think I’m going to take the situation back. I started working, I started looking good.’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, okay,’” he continued.

Mike Sorrentino denies claims he had facial surgery

With his 30-pound weight loss, other parts of Sorrentino’s body changed, including his face, which received a lot of attention online, according to previous reporting from The Blast.
Speaking to the New York Post, Sorrentino denied claims that he had undergone plastic surgery, instead attributing his new look to the classic “gym, tanning, (and) laundry” routine made famous on the MTV series.
He sparked concern among social media users a few months ago when a clip of him went viral on TikTok, causing many to wonder if he had gone too far with plastic surgery.
“I definitely got a lot of responses that thought I had a facelift or new eyeballs and cheeks from Zimbabwe,” he said in the response video. “I certainly didn’t do that.”

Getting his abs back was a big deal for the situation

And while some may not like Sorrentino’s journey, it’s certainly a big deal for the reality star, who has spoken openly about his sobriety journey and past legal troubles, which landed him in federal prison for eight months.
“What a journey I’ve been on from when I had abs when I was first introduced to the world to now after prison, after addiction, recovery and now getting them back…that’s the evolution of it,” he said. “I have the family, the story, the sobriety, and now I’ve got my abs back. All of those things are priceless. You have to earn them. I put the work into all of it.”
The situation celebrates 7 years of marriage
In addition to his hot new body, Sorrentino recently shared a photo on Instagram, celebrating his seventh wedding anniversary with wife Lauren Sorrentino, whom he married in 2018.
“Happy 7 year wedding anniversary to my eternal love (and) soulmate. Look what we created,” she captioned the circular photos.
“Happy Anniversary,” Sammy “Lover” Giancola commented, while “The Real World” star Tami Roman wrote: “I’m so happy I had the opportunity to meet and be around you both, you are simply the real deal… authentic, kind, and full of love. Happy Anniversary and many more to come.”
