Above all other science fiction franchises, even Star Wars, Star Trek is known for its ships. We all have our favorites, but when it comes down to it, which Star Trek ship is the deadliest?
Determining which ship is the most dangerous is not as easy as it seems. You can’t, for example, compare a Galaxy-class Enterprise to a Constitution-class Enterprise and say that the Galaxy-class is more dangerous and powerful just because it’s newer. This doesn’t make any sense.
The best way to determine which ship is most capable of destroying an opponent is to compare it to other ships of its era. But what exactly does “era” mean? The Excelsior class was in service in Captain Kirk’s days and Captain Picard’s days. Are we comparing them to Kirk-era ships or Picard-era ships?
For this ranking, we’ll attempt to determine which Star Trek ship is the most dangerous by directly comparing each ship to other ships in service during its heyday. For example, when the D7 Battlecruiser was the most powerful Klingons ship of the Original Series era, how powerful was it compared to all the other ships around it? This distinction will help indicate which Star Trek ship is truly deadlier.
Note: We will omit unique items like Scimitar or V’Ger. They will receive a separate rating. To qualify, the ship must be a production model, class
9. Klingon Nivar

The Negh’Var class is the largest ship built by the Klingon Empire in the 24th century. It’s legitimately armored, and a great siege weapon.
It is approximately 2,300 feet long and carries a crew of 2,500. That’s more than double the crew size of the Galaxy-class Enterprise. The ship has huge numbers of disabling guns and heavy torpedo launchers, but perhaps its greatest strength is its thick armour. Lowering its shields is not enough to eliminate Negh’Var.
The ship’s only weak point is its lack of maneuverability. It allowed the Defiant to face one in an alternate universe, which is why he’s at the bottom of this list.
8. Destroyer Jorn

It is unclear how large the Gorn’s largest destroyer is, except to say that it is much larger than the Constitution class and much more dangerous. Even Gorn fighters are often too much for Starfleet ships to handle, but when they encounter a destroyer, all Captain Pike-era Starfleet ships can do is run.
The ships operate like a mother ship, housing hundreds of highly lethal fighters, but as seen in… Star Trek: Strange New WorldsDestroyer is also fully capable of taking care of herself without it
7. Sovereign class

Unlike most other Starfleet ships, which are designed to fill multiple roles, the Sovereign class was created to be a purpose-built Borg battleship and killer. Its ability to fire a massive barrage of advanced quantum torpedoes gave it a massive advantage in firepower over most other ships of the era.
The ship was smaller than the Galaxy class, but far more dangerous. Its armored exterior, incredible speed, and maneuverability are easily made up for by its size. In her time, no one wanted to tangle with the Sovereign.
6. Citadel Class Voth City ship

Only one Citadel Class was seen on screen. It appears in Star Trek: Voyager The episode “Distant Origin” where it is referred to as the city ship of Voth.
Voth has more than one of them, but you’d think one would be enough. At 11 miles long, the Citadel Class ship is one of the largest ships ever seen on screen. A ship of this size would likely alone earn its place on the list, but the ship is also rumored to be one of the few with the ability to resist assimilation by the Borg. Any ship that can do that is dangerous as hell.
5. Romulan Didric Warbird

The Romulans chose the D’deridex Warbird as a means of revealing themselves to the Federation, specifically because it was so large and powerful, and they knew it would scare everyone. You succeeded.
At the time, the Galaxy class was the most powerful ship the Federation had ever produced, and it had no chance against the Warbird. Powered by the Singularity, the massive ship carried a crew of 1,500 and mounted numerous sabotage arrays and powerful plasma torpedoes.
The Warbird’s era of dominance was short-lived, as other races scrambled to catch up, and new powers such as The Dominion emerged, but even once they did, any appearance of the Warbird continued to strike fear into the hearts of those who encountered it. They have been the backbone of the Romulan Star Empire’s war machine for decades.
4. The warship “Jim Hadar”.

The most powerful ship in the expanding Dominion fleet in the late 24th century was the battleship Jem Hadar. Described as being several times larger than a Galaxy-class starship, it was not only capable of destroying anything it encountered with its numerous heavy polaron beam arrays and dozens of torpedo launchers, it was also immune to most Starfleet weapons.
These ships are difficult to maintain and require significant resources. Therefore, they have always been used sparingly by The Dominion. But these battleships are also almost impossible for any single ship to defeat.
3. The first Federation patrol ship

The Fesarius, first seen in the episode “The Corbomite Maneuver” of the Original Series, is a God-class of the First Federation, not to be confused with the Federation. A perfect sphere about a mile in diameter, Fesarius makes Captain Kirk’s Constitution-class establishment look like a toy.
It has no visible weapons, hull features, or crew windows, just an overwhelming presence. It immediately disables the Enterprise, most likely via graviton or tractor-based technology, and ignores all checks. The source of its power is unknown, its defenses are untouchable, and its intentions are deliberately vague. Even the small shuttle that breaks away from it overpowers the Enterprise to the point that resisting it is hopeless.
The Visarius was only one patrol ship among many. So when the First Union asks people to leave them alone, it is taken seriously. Maybe that’s why they were never seen or heard from again.
2. Borg’s Absorbing Cube

The Borg have many deadly and nearly indestructible ships, but the most dangerous in their fleet is the Assimilation Cube. One of these ships, acting alone, wiped out the entire Federation fleet on Wolf 359. Maintaining their dominance for nearly a decade, the various races of the galaxy had no real answer to the threat they posed.
A perfect cube, over 3,000 feet per side, Absorption Cubes ignore design aesthetics and focus on one goal: absorption and control. Its regenerative hull, adaptive armor, and large size make it nearly indestructible.
Standard weapons barely register. Entire fleets are sunk. Resistance is not only futile, it is irrelevant.
1. Species 8472 Biochip

The Type 8472 bioship was not built, it was grown. It is a living organic weapon from liquid space, superior to almost everything in known space. Small in size but ridiculous in power, one tiny bio-ship can destroy a Borg cube in seconds.
Their structures are impervious to traditional technology. Their weapons, bioenergy pulses, melt spacecraft like butter. They don’t come alone. 8472 spreads out in coordinated, hive-mind-driven swarms that operate with precision and fury.
The Borg couldn’t adapt to it until they got help from Janeway. Even then, it was just a temporary measure. It’s not just a ship. A bio-ship is a biological predator designed for war. One encounter is suicide. Facing the fleet is extinction.
What about Corporation J?

Wondering why Enterprise J isn’t on this list? We have no idea how the Universe class compares to other ships of its era, making it impossible to rank them.
