If it seems like Black Friday deals — and holiday shopping in general — start early, you’re right.
Just in time for Halloween, Walmart and Best Buy have both announced plans for 2025 Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
Black Friday, which always comes after Thanksgiving, falls on Friday, November 28 this year. Deals generally last through that weekend until Cyber Monday, which falls on December 1.
However, in recent years, many retailers have begun kicking off sales two to three weeks before Thanksgiving. This year is no different.
Here’s what you should know.
When do Walmart’s Black Friday deals start?
The world’s largest major retailer often sets the schedule for Black Friday deals, according to Axios– So take note.
This year, Walmart said it will hold two different Black Friday sales events, rolling them out at different times online and in stores across the country.
“For years, Walmart has owned Black Friday — and this year we’re proving why,” said John Forner, president and CEO of Walmart U.S. “We’re discounting up to 60% off top brands and offering thousands of deals for under $20, making it clear: No one does low prices like us.”
Walmart+ members (those who pay for the retailer’s subscription tier) get first access to deals starting Thursday, November 13 at 7pm ET, with sales opening to everyone online and in-store on Friday, November 14, and ending on Sunday, November 16.
The second event starts on Monday before Thanksgiving, Monday, November 24, at 7pm ET for Walmart+ members; Then online only from Tuesday, November 25 to Thursday, November 27; And finally, both in-store and online on Black Friday itself, Friday, November 28, through Sunday, November 30.

The same exercise applies to Cyber Monday, when Walmart+ members will get early access starting at 7 PM ET on Sunday, November 30 for the online-only sale.
The sale begins Monday, December 1 for all shoppers.
Best Buy 2025 Black Friday, Cyber Monday Sales
Best buy It starts even earlier – on Halloween (yes, you read that right).
On Friday, October 31, Best Buy will roll out its early Black Friday tech deals called “DoorBOOSters” — available at Best app purchase, BestBuy.comAnd in the store. Best Buy members, My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy TotalAnd also get extra rewards of up to $25 on select products.
More Black Friday sales begin Thursday, November 20, with savings on PCs, gaming, home theaters, wearables, and more.
Cyber Monday is coming a day early, on Sunday, November 30, with up to 50% off select tech.
“Nobody does the holiday shopping season like Best Buy, so we decided to expand the definition of ‘holiday’ and start the fun on Halloween this year,” said Jason Bonfig, chief customer, product and fulfillment officer at Best Buy. In a statement. “Whether you want to shop your clothes or wait until Black Friday, we’ll be here all season long with the best gifts, amazing deals and endless ways to discover the coolest products.”
Holiday shopping is expected to increase at a lower rate Compared to last year, as Americans feel the effects of President Trump’s tariffs; inflation and rising costs of living, including higher grocery costs; and the government shutdown, which left many federal employees without pay amid mass layoffs.
Holiday retail sales are likely to rise between 2.9% and 3.4% in 2025, according to Deloitte’s annual holiday retail forecast, compared to 4.2% during the same period in 2024.
